Predictors of 30-Day Re-hospitalization After Total Hip and Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Orthopedic Ward Perspective
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: The study was aimed to elucidate risk factors identifiable from ward-derived data of thirty-day re-hospitalization among patients undergoing total hip and knee arthroplasty.
Methods: designed as a cross-sectional prospective study. the were collected through Patient Sociodemographic Form, Nurse Physical Assessment Observation Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), Katz Activities Daily Living (ADL) Scale.
Results: Patients scored using this CCI system grouped high (high group >2, n = 49) low (low ≤2, 78) with cut-off score 2. 30-day rate 14.2%, most common reason for surgical infection.
Surgical risk, daily living dependency, comorbidities index scores not significantly additive effects on rehospitalization (p> 0.05). results indicate that infection often cause higher rates Conclusions: Orthopedic nurses should close observation site design an effective discharge following-up order prevention in with“high risk”.

Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) remains a clinical threat to orthopaedic surgeons, despite of a large number of clinical trials and research performed on this subject. Various guidelines and recommendations are available in clinical practice but the search continues for an ideal agent or combination of agents for VTE prophylaxis. Rudolf Virchow first described Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and the su...
متن کاملThirty-day mortality and morbidity after total knee arthroplasty.
INTRODUCTION Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is one of the most successful orthopaedic procedures to date. It is estimated that over 130,000 of TKAs are performed in the United States every year. Whilst the procedure is safe, it nevertheless carries a risk of perioperative mortality and morbidity. This study aimed to report the mortality rate within 30 days after a TKA, as well as to assess the i...
